What is an SR-22?

Not an insurance policy. It is a certificate your carrier files with the State of Florida proving you carry the liability coverage the state has ordered after certain violations. We place the policy and the carrier makes the filing.

What is an FR-44, and how is it different?

Florida’s filing after a DUI conviction. It works the same way but requires higher liability limits than an SR-22. The limits are set by statute and they change; a licensed agent will confirm the figures that apply to your case.

I do not own a car. Can I still get the filing?

Yes. A non-owner operator policy carries the filing for someone who drives but has no vehicle titled to them, and it is often the least expensive way to meet the requirement.

Will the filing itself raise my premium?

The violation behind it matters far more than the form. We place with carriers that accept records with violations and quote more than one, so the figure is in front of you.

How fast can it be filed?

The carrier makes the filing once the policy is bound. If a licence-reinstatement deadline is on you, call the office first and we will tell you exactly what we need and how fast it can move.
